Please note the following updates for elements of the ICANN gTLD OwnerChange (Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy - IRTP).
The following changes are already implemented in our production system:
1. Parameter TriggerDA available for FOA Mode:
This feature needs to be enabled by registrar property SetProperty / ICANNTRANSFER-OWNERCHANGE-TRIGGERDA = 1. If the parameter TriggerDA=1 has been submitted with the relevant command (ModifyDomain / ModifyContact), it triggers the Designated Agent Mode even if the FOA Mode is enabled for the entire account at that time. This option is also available within your account settings in the web interface.
2. TransferLock Removal Link for losing registrant in DA mode:
This feature needs to be enabled by registrar property SetProperty / ICANNTRANSFER-OWNERCHANGE-REMOVE-TRANSFERLOCK = 1. It adds a link to the Designated Agent confirmation e-mail which enables the losing registrant to remove the transfer lock (and to skip the 60-day transfer lock). This option is also available within your account settings in the web interface.
The following changes will become effective as of June 19, 2017:
1. Enhancement of the trigger code complexity:
Currently, our systems generates 10-digit trigger codes only (e.g. 1234567890). In order to improve the complexity, the trigger codes will have the following syntax as of June 19:
Characters: a-z A-Z (case-sensitive)
Special characters: none
2. Change of ModifyContact command to a non-realtime process (for linked gTLD domains):
Currently, the ModifyContact command is processed in realtime after the confirmation of the update or after the sending of the DA e-mail. Effective June 19, this will be changed into a non-realtime process. The status clientTransferProhibited is applied to the domain prior to the contact change is conducted. An event is generated as soon as the change has been finished.
3. Possibility to resend the Designated Agent e-mails:
Currently, it is not possible to resend the DA e-mails. However, as of June 19, we will give you the possibility to use the ResendNotification command and thus to resend these notifications. Please note that this action may trigger several e-mails, e.g. if several IRTP changes for one domain / contact object were processed.
Please note the following updates regarding the launch of the .art TLD:
1. Cancellation of EAP, General Availability starts earlier:

Rightside - IDN Language Additions:
The TLDs of the Rightside registry now support special characters of these ten languages/scripts: Arabic (arab), Cyrillic (cyrl), Devanagari (deva), Greek (grek), Hebrew (hebr), Japanese (ja), Korean (ko), Latin (latn), Tamil (taml), and Thai (tha). This addition to current IDN support represents availability for over 200 localized languages.
Addition of IDNs into the .club namespace:
The .club registry added six additional languages on April 6 which are Korean (ko), Hungarian (hu), Latvian (lv), Lithuanian (lt), Polish (pl), and Russian (ru). Six additional languages followed on April 13: Danish (da), Swedish (sv), Finnish (fi), Icelandic (is), Norwegian (no), and Portuguese (pt). IDNs in the .club namespace will continue to function in accordance with Neustar's technical protocol previously released for Chinese, French, Japanese, German and Spanish.
Premium list for .baby domain names:
The registry has provided us with the premium domain list for .baby. These premium domain names can be registered starting with the .baby Golive. The fee extension will be supported. If you are interested in this list, please contact our support team.
Update of the .desi premium list:
The .desi registry updated the premium domain list. The list can be requested from our support team.
Release of 1- and 2-character .vegas domains:
The .vegas registry released single and two character premium domains on April 15. We can provide you with the premium list if you are interested. The Restricted Claims Period lasts until July 14 (00:00 UTC).
.co.za: Fee-based restores possible as of April 10
Starting April 10, it is possible to process restores for .co.za domains (ccTLD for South Africa). Please note that the domains are automatically renewed after a restore so that the regular renewal price is added to the restore fee.
Verification fee for .autos, .boats, .homes, .motorcycles, .yachts
The registration of domains within the TLDs .autos, .boats, .homes, .motorcycles, and .yachts includes a verification process on behalf of the registry. The verification process must be completed within 15 days of registration, or the domain name will be rejected.
Please note that a fee will be retained from the registration fee if the verification and thus the registration fails starting from May 15, 2017.
As we informed you already, the following CentralNic second-level domain extensions will be discontinued on April 30 on behalf of the registry: .ar.com, .gb.com, .hu.com, .kr.com, .qc.com, .no.com, .se.com, and .uy.com.
Thus, all domain names within these extensions will be deactivated on this date.
Please note that as of July 1, 2017, SWITCH will change the subscription period for the initial registration of .ch and .li domains from a monthly basis to a daily basis.
It is common practice to calculate the expiration date of a domain by the following scheme: Expiration Date = Creation Date + [period] year(s). SWITCH, however, differs from this scheme and set the expiration date always at the end of the month in which the domain was registered. This approach will be changed on July 1, and the .ch / .li Registry will adapt the calculation of the subscription period on a daily basis. This also eliminates the problem of a possible temporal discrepancy between renewal and expiration date.
The Hungarian registry has relaxed their policies for .hu domains. From now on, in addition to citizens of the EU countries, inhabitants from countries which are members of the Council of Europe, the European Economic Area (EEA), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), or a neighboring country of Hungary, may also register .hu domains (owner contact).
The complete list of eligible countries (registration without trustee service) can be provided upon request.
Please note that the admin contact must be located in Hungary. Our trustee service is still available.
The full description of the criteria that must be fulfilled by an .hu domain applicant can be found in chapter 1.1 of the .hu domain registration rules: http://www.domain.hu/domain/English/szabalyzat/szabalyzat.pdf
ICANN has recently suspended the lock for certain domain names that correspond to a country code (ISO 3166-1 alpha 2 list). Accordingly, the .saarland registry has added the following 26 names to their premium list. These names will be available as of April 12, 2017, 10:00 UTC.
ac.saarland, ai.saarland, bh.saarland, bm.saarland, ci.saarland, cn.saarland, eg.saarland, hk.saarland, il.saarland, in.saarland (reserved by the Federal State of Saarland), io.saarland, it.saarland (reserved by the Federal State of Saarland), kr.saarland, ky.saarland, ma.saarland, me.saarland, ms.saarland, na.saarland, pt.saarland, ru.saarland, sg.saarland (reserved by the Federal State of Saarland), sh.saarland, su.saarland, tc.saarland, tw.saarland, vg.saarland (reserved by the Federal State of Saarland).
In order to release these 2-character premium domains, the registry adapted the anti-abuse regulations for .saarland. Please find the updated anti-abuse regulations here (https://nic.saarland/files/anti_abuse_policy.pdf) .
If the current (losing) registrar denies the transfer of a .fr domain name, the transfer time is extended to 22 days giving all involved parties time to solve the conflict. The domain remains pending until successful transfer. It is still possible to confirm the transfer before the 22-day deadline to complete the transfer instantly.
Please note that Amazon Registry Services, Inc. have changed the .moi launch schedule once again: .moi General Availability has been postponed to April 4, 2017 (14:00 UTC).
Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the TLD directly at this date due to restrictions of the registry. However, we are working hard to provide the TLD as soon as possible.
